When to Get Help for Nail Biting
Contact appropriate medical care when nail biting leaves you concerned about your nails or surrounding skin. NHS guidance advises a clinician check for unexplained nail changes or sore, red, swollen, warm skin around a nail.
Do not use a photo as a diagnosis
A website or app cannot determine the cause of a nail change from your description or journal picture. Avoid using a comparison photo to decide that an injury is safe to ignore.
A clinician can assess the actual nail and skin. Follow local urgent-care advice when you need prompt help.
Ask for support when changing the habit is difficult
The American Academy of Dermatology recommends discussing persistent difficulty stopping with a doctor. You can ask for help even if you have not kept a detailed record.
Explain what you have noticed, what concerns you, and what you have already tried. You do not need a perfect explanation before making an appointment.
Keep app support and medical care separate
Pipping support answers product questions. It does not assess injuries, recommend medicines, or provide emergency care. Use appropriate local care for medical concerns rather than waiting for a developer reply.
