Everyday moments
Prepare for Nail-Biting Moments Between Games
Focus on the break between rounds or a loading screen, rather than trying to record an urge during play. Choose where your hands will rest after you set the controller down.
Plan the transition
- Choose one repeatable break, such as the end of a round.
- Make a clear place for the controller so putting it down becomes part of the break.
- Rest your hands comfortably or use an object that fits the break.
- If you want to record a moment, do it after play has stopped.
Match the action to the controls
An action that occupies a hand may interfere with a controller, keyboard, or mouse. Try it during the break first. Keep the play surface clear and stop an uncomfortable action.
The useful cue might be the moment you stop using the controls. It does not have to be an in-game event.
Keep the review about the break
Ask whether the break happened and whether the hand action was ready. A missed break gives you a setup question to adjust. This exercise does not measure how many times you bit during the game.
