Everyday moments

Prepare for wandering hands at your desk

Separate the moments when both hands are typing from the moments when one hand is idle. Prepare for the idle part of the task.

App instructions and features describe the release candidate. Public App Store release is pending.

A desk setup you can actually use

  • Keep the main work area clear.
  • Put a quiet, comfortable object within reach for reading pauses.
  • Choose a place to rest your hands while thinking.
  • Keep optional reminders away from meetings where they would interrupt.

Keep work and observation separate

Finish the current thought before writing a note. One short entry after a reading block can capture the context.

Do not use a timer or app if it distracts you from work that needs continuous attention.

A plan to try

When I stop typing to read, I will rest my free hand on the desk or hold my chosen object.

Change the plan if that position feels uncomfortable or interferes with the task.
